Mechanical & Thermal Engineer

ETX is seeking a talented, tenacious, result driven individual to work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with likeminded motivated engineers.

We want to expand our team and are now looking for a Mechanical & Thermal Engineer to join our team! After a period of integration, if desired, you can rapidly move to project management

Mission:

Under general supervision, this individual will work with small project teams. The right candidate will have to:

  • Under minimal direction, designs, develops, simulate, implement and tests a variety of mechanical assembly, systems, and/or parts primarily for hosting electronic subsystems.

  • Formulates conceptual design of aeronautical or aerospace products or systems to meet customer requirements. 

  • Excellent skills in efficient mechanical design and thermal analyses

  • Excellent skills in using Mechanical CAD software and Thermal Simulation software

  • Develops advanced mathematical models or other methods of computer analysis to develop, evaluate, or modify design, according to customer engineering requirements. 

  • Performs system level analyses of test results and uses the results to prepare technical reports of findings and recommendations. 

  • With some direction, creates and implements common procedures and standard work across the organization. 

  • Collaborate with customers to establish specifications, performs analysis, and plan performance testing. 

  • Analysis test results for consistency with performance predictions and for compliance to system requirements.

  • Be able to clearly communicate and discuss ideas 

  • Provide a fresh approach and when appropriate questions existing procedures, tools and methods

  • Be able to clearly write technical document and provide clear summarized reports to management

  • Consider business aspects during important decision-making processes within projects/product development

  • Positively influence projects through personal behavior and attitude, being a role-model in terms of integrity, loyalty and behavior

  • Demonstrate dedication and discipline

Applicable background:

  • Experience with Solidworks, Fusion and/or Inventor CAD tools

  • Hardware/system design, tools, debug, lab experience and vendor interface are a plus

  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Other skills that would be most welcome but not mandatory

    • ESA documentation experience & ECSS

    • Experience in Satellite Engineering or Payload development

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical & Thermal engineering or equivalent

  • Over 5 years relevant experience required
